Cant Open .PDF files - Please help!

ok, I upgraded to the new 7.0.7 Adobe Acrobat, but now my files will not open and internet explorer freezes.  Since I needed to download a document asap I uninstalled it and went back to 5.0, which works fine, but why won't it work w/ the new version?  I'm running XP Pro.  thx

If I understand correctly, the PDF you are trying to Open is on the internet. Sometimes I encounter that problem and can get things to work by starting Adobe Acrobat reader first, Saving the PDF to the hard drive and then using Reader to Open it from the hard drive rather than through the browser. Our school puts a lot of course materials in PDF on our intranet (actually BlackBOARD)

Or, you can right click the file and associate with the new version 7.0.7, which is just fine I might add.

I assume all these concern the Reader. Since our school may be ordering the version 7 Professional, I am interested in any issues encountered using it. Currently all our 66 licenses (and what we use) are for versio 6 Professional.
