Try running WinSock XP Fix and see if this works. It can also be possible that your wireless router has used up all it's ip addresses. You can also try running Renew IP Address and see if that works.
i tried running winsock XP fix and nothing happened. I have tried ip release and renew multiple times but always seem to get limited or no connecitivty. I do not believe it is the router due to when i plug straight into the router i can still not get an ip address. Also, in order to start the wireless card i have to go to the wireless zero config and start it each time. I have not recently reinstalled the operating system. If i can not get it to work i will prolly just have someone reformat since im pretty much outta luck
Since this is a Dell Computer, why not try an XP Repair. First, I always recommend making copies of files and folders that you cannot afford to lose.
Insert the XP operating system disk and restart your computer.
Press any key to boot from CD
Choose install
Do the agreement
Now choose repair. Leave the disk in until you see the Welcome Screen, takes about 35 minutes. You'll need to get all the Windows Updates again, more painful.
