I don't recall any postings with people having trouble with setting up a machine in the 1184's "DMZ". That could happen if it "just worked", or maybe nobody's tried it before.

Check to be sure you transferred the computer's MAC address correctly to the 1184. Also check the "Device Status" tab in the 1184's Web server to see what's in the list of LAN DHCP leases.

If everything looks OK on the 1184, and you're still not receiving the "DMZ" IP address, you may have discovered a problem with the 1184 firmware. Is it current?

I hope you've installed a firewall on the DMZ computer. It seems to me that it would be better to be selective about what ports are forwarded by the 1184, rather than placing the entire system in the DMZ. Your risk of attacks/problems goes way up if the machine is completely exposed to the Internet. But having said that, I know people have had trouble getting port forwarding from the 1184 to work correctly.
