Connect Plantronics Voyager 510 with Dell Wireless Bluetooth 350

Hi..

Just got my Plantronies Voyaer 510, and have spend a whole day on trying to figur out how i connect it to my computer. I've updated all my drivers, and can't still not find it. I spoke with ppl from Plantronies and they said i should ask dell about help.

Plantronies Voyaer 510 are supporting laptops, so if you got some help you want to share with me i'll be glad :)

Hello Soren,

I have successfully paired my Discovery 640 with my Dell 6400 laptop, hopefully I can help you.

Step One: Open your "Bluetooth Places" folder on your Dell laptop. (you can do this by clicking the Bluetooth icon in your system tray or the Bluetooth icon in your control panel)

Step Two: Once your "Bluetooth places" folder is open, click on the "look for Bluetooth devices" button.

Step Three: Place your headset in pairing mode by pressing and holding the "volume +" and "call control" buttons for two seconds. Release the buttons when the status indicator flashes alternatively red and blue.

Step Three: You should shortly see a message indicating that a new Bluetooth device has been found and a new icon in your "Bluetooth places" that looks like a head with a headset. It should be labeled something like "Plantronics Voyager 510".

Step Four: You should next see a message on your laptop asking you if you would like to connect to the headset, click yes

Step Five: The laptop will ask you for the connection password, just enter four zeros in a row: 0000

Step Six: You should now see a checkmark next to the icon in your "Bluetooth places" labelled "Plantronics Voyager 510"

Step Seven: Whenever you turn on your headset it should automatically pair with your laptop.

I hope that this helps

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Okay I now got it connect to the laptop (pairing done), and how is i going to get it to work with skype?
I read this (http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=10822&hl=bluetooth+headset), and I can't find "Bluetooth Audio".

Once you have the PL-510 paired with the Dell Wireless Bluetooth 350...

(Edit)
Make sure the PL-510 is connected!
Right-click on the Bluetooth icon in the systray (next to clock), then select "Bluetooth Settings"
Right-click on the PL-510 icon, then click on "Connect".

Then a screen will appear indicating that the PL-510 is being called and a tone should sound in the PL-510. Press the PL-510 button to answer.
The icon's appearance should change to indicate it's connected.
Skype should now recognize the PL-510.
(End edit)

"Open" Skype
Click "Tools" / "Options" / "Sound Devices"
For "Audio In" - click the "drop-down button" and select the "PL-510"
For "Audio Out" - click the "drop-down button" and select the "PL-510"
Click "Save"

In the main Skype window, highlight (select) the "Skype Test Call" and click the green call button...

If you don't have it, you can download the "Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth User's Guide" from "here".

Aloha,
Rod

The Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth driver I installed on my younger son's I-6000 is "here".
I uninstalled the old drivers before installing the new ones. You might want to create a "Restore Point" in "System Restore" before you start...

My older son is still using the original Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth driver that shipped with his I-9300.
