When I called SBCYahoo, they had me reset the modem (& router) - but the disconnect happened again that very same night (didn't check on it last night).
I'll pay attention to it tonight.
If ISP is resetting it every night, I wonder why??  Weather-related?  Just having fun?

I also notice that the speed dips way down to around 55kbps just before the cut-off.  We average around 300kbps because of the area we live in...

Thanks!  --V

I'm pretty good at regularly running scans and updating - nothing seems to stand out.  And I do have an idle, but there are more idle times during the day than the eve - that's what makes it so mysterious.

Maybe it has nothing to do with my end at all...maybe "they" test at regular intervals.

I appreciate your input!  --V
