Could not find the MODEM device for this driver.
Hi, I have a Dell XPS 8300 desktop and I recently performed a full wipe on it. I have all my other drivers installed fine, but I am unable to get the network adapter drivers to work. The modem driver refuses to install simply saying "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MODEM device for this driver." This is my first time doing a full wipe and apart from this everything has been going fine. I just need to get connected to the internet. I got the driver from the dell site suing my service tag. It is the Conexant D400 USB 56K Modem Driver that is having the issue. I can list the other drivers I have installed if need be.

After reading some aditional posts i'm not sure that I need this driver for my computer. However the drivers I installed for my wireless adapter and other network devices don't seem to be working.

Have you reinstalled Windows 7 64 Bit or Windows 8.1 64 Bit?
Most of these systems won't have a modem as the modem is more or less totally obsolete so I wouldn't worry about the modem driver.
Regarding the wireless card there are multiple variants in this system. The Dell Wireless 1501, 1520 and 365 Bluetooth.
Provide the hardware IDs so I can identify the variants your system has. See the instructions here:
