D600 network adapter - links won't work

I recently reformatted my Latitude D600 and installed Windows XP Pro. I downloaded and installed the network drivers (hardwire, not WiFi). I can get on the internet for only about 2 - 3 minutes, after which any link I click on or any URL I type in, the browser doesn't respond (IE and Firefox). It's like clicking on plain text. The browser doesn't do anything. All hardware and connections are fine and properly working according to Windows. I have to restart my machine and then it works for again about 2 - 3 minutes and then the problem returns. Any suggestions? I was thinking about reformatting again. Any specific order drivers should be installed for a freshly installed XP Pro Latitude D600?
