D800 - Network connections stop working after non use. Broadcom Gigabit Integrated adapter

Have several D800s with the Broadcom Gigabit Integrated adapter.  After logging in to our network, the network connections drop after non use.  Internet connection still works, but when I try to access a network drive I get a not accessable error.  As if the network cable is no longer there.  If I open a command prompt, and ping the server and or drives, they come back up.  This is becoming a nasty little problem.  I have updated to the latest driver from Dells site (v.6.64.0.0, A02).  Any help would be appreciated.

I will check that on my users system and post if it fixes the problem.  Thank you.

You might want to look in the Device Manager under the properties for the network adapter...try unchecking the "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" option and see if that fixes the problem...

Well, I tried turning off the features and that did not help.  The system still disables mapped network drives.  Then when you try to access a mapped drive, it takes a bit to "wake up" the connection and it is backup.  I do not believe that the NIC is the problem, since during the time that we see the dropped mapped drive, we can still send and receive email, access the internet.  Could this be a netbios issue? If so, what? and why does this system have the problem and not others?

Thank you for any suggestions you may have.
