If using DSL, everything needs a dsl filter except the DSL modem/router.
I would use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier. I would turn off the firewall in the D-Link and use the firewalls and virus programs on the computer to protect it.

wall > isp modem/router > D-Link 1310 > wired/wireless
