I have the 614+ (A) and 2mb cable, and I get about 1.6/1.7 or so throughput, but that is pretty consistient whether wired or wireless.  You should see about the same wired or wireless.  I don't know the firmware I use, I will check when I get home.  I know it is not the latest, but don't remember which, possibly 2.20.  The 614+ will not support WPA.

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/dlink is a good resource also.

I forgot to check when I went home for supper, really sorry.  I will look in the morning.

Don't disparage "b" - that is 11mb max while internet connections are 2-4mb max.

I am running version 2.18 - 2.20 had issues and I haven't kept up to know if 2.30 or 2.33 have any.  The dslreports forum I pointed to would be a good search for that - also there is a Dlink employee who posts there.  2.18 is very stable, at least for me.  I use 256 keys, MAC filtering, limited DHCP range, WAN ping answer off, etc.
