Dell 1797 Wireless Adaptor 5 ghz

Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series cannot connect with 5G Wifi

It used to show 5 GHz but now it does not. Its not the router because I took it over to a friends house and still no 5 GHz. When at home my iPad and iPhone see and connect with 5ghz. Any thoughts?
