Dell Inspiron 1525 not recognizing wireless networks

Greetings,

I have recently reinstalled the Vista 32 bit OS on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. The wireless card installed is a Dell 1395 WLAN mini card.  I checked and the card and it is enabled. If I connect the internet cable it works.  When I search for a wireless network, none appear even though other computers are accesing the router that is next to the computer.

I have completed all of my windows updates and have tried to download the driver, but cannot find the one for the Vista 32 OS for Inspiron 1525.

Dell Inspiron 1525 service tag # <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>

Any and all help would be apprecited.

Hi, I will not post that information again like that.  Thanks for the reminder.  I was able to download the driver but it is still not working. I tried the steps you provided, but it was for Windows 8 and I tried to make sense of it, but could not.

I have vista 32 bit system.

I am a novice with a little skill and am ready to try what I can to make it work.

Jtroiano65,

When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.

I erased the entire system and started new.  I followed the instructions and everything is working except for the wireless part.  This is a message that was provided to me after running a test.

Compatibility issue between wireless network card and Windows

Your wireless network card has stopped working properly because a compatible driver isn't available for this version of Windows. Because this device isn't compatible with this version of Windows, and there are no solutions available for this problem, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer of Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN MiniCard.

What should I do?

Jim
