Dell Inspiron 518 Direct To modem connection problem!!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
I Need Help with my Dell Inspiron 518. I have a problem with my internet going direct to modem, it a constant problem with my internet. I use Internet Explorer 9 for my web browsing. I contact my ISP and they send in a technician to see if it was a problem with my modem, while the tech work on my modem he explain to me that there wasnt a problem with the modem. He showed a comparison with my computer and his laptop. when he used his laptop it show outstanding speed, and my computer was showing time out or webpage can't be displayed the only way i can use my computer for internet is if i boot up my computer and hold down F8 to go under safe mode with network and my internet works prefectly fine, i even try a ping testing under command prompt and website that test my ping, download speed and upload speed.
If anybody know how to fix this or toubleshoothing please let me know thank you

KwameD90,
Try reading...
Software Updates Causes Wireless Connectivity Issue Or Unable to Connect to Internet
If the article does not help solve the problem, Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.
Also include the virus program and firewall you're using.

KwameD90,
Did you try power cycling your modem/routers?
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)
Restart the computer and try to connect.
What happens?
McAfee had connection issues but I think they emailed their customers. Software Updates Causes Wireless Connectivity Issue Or Unable to Connect to Internet
These state that they're for printers but get you to the firewall settings. I am going to give you both Norton and McAfee, in case there is something left from McAfee. I would suggest removing McAfee, just to make sure that it is not causing the connection problem. Use the McAfee Removal Tool
FIREWALL SETTINGS
Allow a printer past Norton
Allow a printer past McAfee

I tried restarting my ISP Modem and computer I still have the same problem. Can it be my ethernet card inside my computer that is causing the problem?
Can I just uninstall McAfee? because I don't use it and I don't have a subscription
By the way im using direct to modem i'm not using a router in this situation
