Dell Network Assistant and Windows Installer

Everytime I start up my computer Windows installer tries to install Dell network Assistant but I get an error #1706 "No Valid Source" I DO NOT want netowrk assistant on my computer. I tried uninstalling it from "add/remove programs? but it has no way to do this....I have no discs for the puter as I got it from work. How do I purge windows installer of trying to install Dell network Assistant?

Its an annoying delay in my start up and I want it gone! HELP!

Is your computer running XP?  With a Windows service pack upgrade to XP, my Windows Installer was broken.  I searched the Microsoft site and found a patch to correct this problem.  The Network Assistant error may be a symptom of this problem - never completed the uninstall, so it kept trying to kick off the uninstall.

Download and install the Windows Installer clean up utilty. Run a scan and remove any references to Dell Network Assistant. Evidently you have a flaky uninstall problem.

I am having the same problem. I cant uninstall the program and all it does is slows down my system with its scan on start up and constant requests to update. but when you try to update it won't because it cant find the installation source.. I'm ready to throw this thing in the cgarbage and buy a new one.. but it wont be a dell if this is what happens..
