Dell Printer Adapter 3300 won't connect to wireless network using Linksys e1000 wireless router
I hope someone can help me. I updated my wireless router as my old WRT54G was malfunctioning. I bought a Linksys E1000 and I can't get my 3300 printer adapter to connect. I have tried everything, c hanging settings and even disabling security alltogether. If i go through the setup wizard i get an error that says, The wireless printer adapter was unable to join the network". I have the router setup to use WPA Personal for security, any ideas?

missbee9609,
The Dell 3300 Wireless Print Adapter, works on the wireless b/g network.
Your Linkysy E1000 is a wireless N router. You need to use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings and make sure to have the router set to the wireless G network, so the 3300 will be able to connect. Since the Linksys is NOT a dual band router, you'll have to sacrifice the faster speeds for the adapter to work. I would make a new SSID to make connectinbg easier.
Try reading...
Setting up the Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300
Since you didn't mmention the make and model of your computer and operating system(32-bit or 64-bit?) and the make and model of your printer, this is all the information I can provide for now. If you need more help, feel free to ask.

I tried the Wireless G setting and that didn't help. I have already tried everything else you suggested and that didn't work as well. The operating system of the pc is Windows XP and the printer is a dell 964. I have tried setting up the 3300 using 2 different pc's and it works on neither of them, it just can't connect to the network. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

missbee9609,
Let's setup your wireless router first.
Update the firmware in the wireless router. Linksys Website
Broadcast SSID. I'd change this to make connecting easier.
Use WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security (Personal)
Use channels 1, 6 or 11. I use channel 11.
Save and exit.
Power off the wireless router. Also power off your ISP modem/router. Wait 30 seconds. Turn on your ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds. Turn on your wireless router. Restart your computer.
Try to connect to the new network.
Run the Dell 3300 Utility This will install the setup utility software. It should prompt you to find your network. It will then ask the type of security and password. It will then connect to your network.
Does the Dell 3300 find your network?

I tried what you suggested again even thought I spent nearly 3 hours yesterday trying the same thing and it won't connect to the network. The security on the router is set up as WPA Personal, I tried WEP yesterday as well with no luck. I also disabled the firewall and virus software and obviously that didnt help either. I also uninstalled the utilty for the 3300 and reinstalled it. I basically pride myself on being able to figure out just about everything but this one has me stumped.

missbee9609,
You can connect to the new network, correct?
If so, try connecting the 3300 to your neighbors network, fake a password and the connection will fail. Then try connecting it to your network. Sometimes that helps with the new connection.
Does the 3300 find your new network?

I have 3 PC's connected to the network, 2 wirelessly and one wired. That was the easy part. I did try connecting the 3300 to the neighbors network and then to mine and it didn't work. I keep thinking it is something obvious that will fix this but what it is I don't know.

missbee9609,
Run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here. Interested to see if I can see a setting of your network that might be a clue.
The 3300 is a wireless b/g network adapter.

missbee9609,
If you put 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of Internet Explorer, then log in to your router, that should get you in to the Linksys, correct?
With no security, the 3300 should be able to connect to your network. If not, then the wireless router needs to be looked at. Try Setting up/Troubleshooting a Wireless Network, it comes with instructions and pictures. This was setup for WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security (Personal)

This is weird. on my router setup there is something called MAC Address Clone. If its enabled, all the pc's work but the adapter doesn't. If I disable it the adapter connects to the network but none of the pc's do.
here is the log in case you need it:
