Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g WiFi Card Compatibility with Windows XP

I would like to buy a Vostro 1000 with Windows XP to replace a failed Dell Inspiron 1100 on a home WLAN.  However details of the 1395 WiFi card supplied with the Vostro lists Vista as being the only supported operating system.  I don't want Vista in order to avoid potential compatibility issues with the rest of the network that uses XP, especially the Linksys router.  However I have seen the 1395 as having drivers for Windows XP.  Can anyone clarify this?

Dell released a host of drivers for formerly "Vista only" options a while back. If it has a driver, I would assume it works.

Thanks for your response.  The drivers I saw were for a 1395 version supplied with the Latitude, which is the reason for my question.  I dont know if the 1395 supplied with the Vostro is the same, or that those drivers would work with the Vostro, especially since Dell only lists Vista as a supporting OS for the 1395.  I need to get confirmation from Dell before I purchase a laptop that won't work on my network.

Drivers for the 1395 will work in ANY system.   They are specific to the card not the system in which the card is installed!

Thanks!  This solves my problem, since I assume that you are saying that the details of the 1395 WiFi card supplied with the Vostro 1000, listing Vista as being the only supported operating system, is incorrect, and that there is only one version of this card and that it will support XP with the proper drivers.  Based on your response, I will go ahead and order the Vostro.  I appreciate your help.
