E521-Internet Connection

-Please help me figure out how to connect my new E521 to the internet. I have my modem connected to the wireless router ( linksys G  2.4 GHz) then a cable to my desktop, yet no connection. The soultion I am sure is simple, but my troubleshooter through the Dell Tech support lead me through 3 different areas...Home support, Business/Dimension Support and finally Wireless Support. It's late and no one at Tech support is up at 2am. Thanks

Your ISP should assist you with this, but in general, start by unplugging the power to the modem and router and turn off the computer.  Power up the modem and let the signal lock on.  Then power up the router.  Then start the computer and let it go through its usual startup routine.  If it is still not working are you receiving any error flags in the system tray (lower right corner) ?  Even though you have a wireless router you are connecting with a cable from the router using an ethernet cable or USB cable, is that right?  Your computer does not have a wireless card?
