HELP PLEASE - Dell driver installation order in Windows XP for Latitude E6400

Hi all.  I received my E6400 the other day and wanted to do a fresh reload of XP.  When and what order do I install the Dell ControlPoint software files?  After my first attempt, the fingerprint reader would not work.  It is listed in the Device Manager as working properly and I copied the newer versions on the bioapi*.dll files into the windows\system32 folder, but it still does not work.  When i try to enroll a fingerprint, a message tells me to connect fingerprint reader.  I'm wondering if i installed the software in the wrong order.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
