How do I get my XP notebook to see my Venue 8 Pro tablet?
I just don't do this network stuff enough to remember what to do.
I've got a working shortcut on my Windows 8.1 Desktop to a shared folder on my Venue 8 Pro.
I've got a working shortcut on my Windows 8.1 Venue 8 Pro to a shared folder on my Windows 8.1 Desktop.
I even have a working shortcut on my Windows 8.1 Venue 8 Pro to a shared folder on my XP Notebook.
What I can't get going is a shortcut on my Windows XP Notebook to a shared file on my Windows 8.1 Venue 8 Pro. I Don't even see the Venue 8 in my Network Places on the Notebook. I've been trying to use the Add Network Place Wizard on the Notebook to add the Tablet's shared folder, but it's not working.

I'm not sure if this will help or not. I was told this works both ways. Works for Windows 7, so it should work for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
