How does a unique Dell mac address correlate to specific computer model? And where can I find a pic or description of that model.
Hi.
Discovered someone with a Dell tapped into my personal hotspot cuz when I ran IPconfig/all at my command line it showed a foreign mac address.
As per macvendorlookup.com, I now know for sure it is a break 'n enter by a Dell computer owner.
Is there somewhere on the Dell site, or in customer service that can tell me what the model is?
First 3 couplets of mac tell me its a Dell for sure (78-45-C4), but can anyone decipher the last 3 couplets of the mac address? They should indicate the network adapter and/or possibly the model. Last 3 couplets of mac address are 16-AC-71.
Thanks.

Babbi,
I don't know how they know it's a Dell Mac Address. None of my Dell computers start with those Mac Addresses.
Mac Addresses can be cloned and changed.
If you use security oin your wireless router, then you should not have a problem. You can also use Mac Address Filtering and then the person cannot connect.
