Inspiron Desktop 530 network adapter problem

The DSL connection stopped working on my dad's pc.  After an hour with the serv prov., it was concluded that the network adapter was not working.  I confirmed that the DSL connection works on another computer.

When I run the diagnostics for the adapter, everthing seems okay except the cable is shown as poor.  This is the same cable I used to successfully connect another computer to the internet.

I reinstalled the driver from the orignal disc.  What should I do now?
