I think the 1350 is a actually a broadcom adapter...

How did you get an intel autoupdate?

Humm that's is a new one to me. Didn't know that intel pushed updates. If you do have the 1350 then I would not be concerned with it not installing, as I mentioned it is not an intell card.

Just for refernenc do you have a link or file name for this update. or updater.

It just turned up like a Microsoft upgraade and proceeded to install itself

Best I can do is tell you that it Intel Proset/wirelss software 10.5.0.2. from memory this is the first tiem that I cna remeber an Intel invasion.

Just noticed in msconfig startup 2 intel programs

frmwrk.exe /tf

zcfgsvc.exe

 

Don't know if that helps any

A bit more info. The install program for Intel starts when I try to install Acrobat Reader 9. Didn't happen when I installed the same program on my desktop.

Double check in device manager to see exactly what wireless adapter shows there under the network line. If there is no listing for any intel product I would disable these two files in the msconfig listing. Im fairly confident that with a 1350 wireless card this will make no difference.

And will solve your issue. I ran the intel proset software in my laptop for 3 yrs and never got a push update like you mention. that is why I was curious
