Wireless network adapters have different drivers than ehternet network adapter.  The Introl Pro/100 is the ethernet adapter.  Also, you must install the drivers in the correct order.  In particular, the chipset drivers MUST be installed before even attempting to install drivers for other devices.

Thank you Steve, it would have been nice it the Dell person I spoke with earlier would have informed me of this.  He wanted to charge me a $49 fee to walk me through it.  I have no clue in which order they were installed.  I installed the above network connection, video, chipset and one other driver I believe.  I downloaded them in order and installed them in order and it looks like the chipset was installed first but not sure.  I do know that I installed the network driver last. Not sure what to do at this point but start over?  What driver should I download for wireless connection?  Sorry for so many questions, Joany

The driver list (not including any hardware you may have added) for the Dim1100 is:

  • Dell Desktop System Software
  • Intel® 865GV chipset driver
  • Intel Integrated Video (optional if you have a video card installed, but still recommended)
  • Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio
  • Intel 10/100 Integrated NIC driver
  • Intel PROSet II Network Diagnostics (optional, but recommended)
  • Drivers for any PCI cards installed
