Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 2200BG compatibility / use with Windows 7

Help please.

Using: Dell Inspiron 9300 using 32 bit Vista Ultimate.

I have very little understanding of computers but I want to upgrade to Windows 7 because of the problems I am having with Vista.  However, the Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 2200BG thingy is reported by the Windows 7 compatibility checker as needing a different driver.  As far as I can see Intel no longer support the Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 2200BG or provide a driver that suits Windows 7, so how do I get past this problem.  Can anyone help with a solution please.  If you can I would appreciate it in simply terms.

 Dorset Diver,

Usually when upgrading your computer to Windows 7, you need to...

Install the desktop/notebook utility and the chipset drivers first, or the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Install Drivers in Microsoft® Windows® on Dell Systems If you cannot find Windows 7 drivers, the try using the Vista (or XP) drivers and install them in the Compatibility mode

If you run Finding System Information at the bottom, you'll see your network adapters. Post back what neywprk adapters you have.

You may even want to try running the tool at...

Intel® Driver Update Utility for Intel® wireless adapters
