IntelNetProvCredMan registry entry hampering password synchronisation
Hi Guys,
I am using the Dell Latitude D 630 laptop, i have recently installed a software Pointsec for PC;this software has an add on which is called password synchronisation. In my organisation couple of my colleagues are using the same laptops and for them this add on works and for me it doesnt. When i did a detailed research i found out that they are using an older version of the wireless drivers than mine. I tried uninstalling the drivers, rolling back to the old drivers nothing worked. I then found out there is an entry in the registry
'HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\HwOrder\'
where we have the entry
'SnacNp,Cwbnetnt,RDPNP,LanmanWorkstation,WebClient,BCMLogon,IntelNetProvCredMan,PssoCM32'
In this if we place the PssoCM32 before the IntelNetProvCredMan things will work fine. I tried editing the registry the way it was advised but after i restarted the machine, the registry entry reverts back to the normal. I then disabled the wireless connection in the BIOS and logged into the machine> changed the registry value and then rebooted the machine to find the changed value to remain the same as i edited and my product works fine. But the problem is we cannot disable wireless in the laptops, do you think we can have some other workaround!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your help is highly appreciated.........
Thanks and regards
Bivin
