To help troubleshoot this problem, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.

The ipconfig output you posted indicates that there that you are getting an IP address from the router.
But, there are some lines missing from the output.  There shoult be two or more lines after the Default Gateway.  These should be DHCP Server ...... 192.168.2.1 and DNS Servers ....... with one or more IP address listed.

Did you post the complete output, or are indeed these lines missing?

Not sure of the answer to your question.  The good news is that reloading the Belkin driver software on the new computer fixed the problem.  It was detecting and connecting to the network but it was not communicating due to some failure somewhere.  Thanks for the help!

Gannonja,

It always gets very confusing trying to help more than one person in the same thread.  If the following suggestions don't help, you should start a new thread by posting a new message rather than replying to existing messages.  In that new message, it would be helpful to know which model computer you have.

Most newer Dell computers come with either Norton Internet Security or McAfee Security Center preinstalled.  Both of these program suites have firewalls that may be blocking your connection to the internet.  If you are not sure how to properly configure the firewall in these programs, disable them or uninstall them until you can figure out how to properly configure them.  If disabling or uninstalling these firewalls solves your problem, then you can spend some time figuring out how to use them without having the problem and then re-enable them or reinstall them.
