Are you pinging sites by IP address or hostname? If it works by IP address, but not hostname, then its probably a DNS problem (incorrect or non-function DSN set in your IP configuration). If pinging hostnames works, then I'd check to see if you have IE configured to use a proxy server when you don't have one, or don't have it configured for a proxy when you should (I've made the latter mistake when switching from using my work D630 at home, then going back to the office).
You might also try doing a chkdsk from the Recovery Console to make sure the Windows files are not corrupted.
