Sorry for the formatting.  Trying to reformat.

I am having issues with Intel 'Bluetooth Device Monitor' Service on my XPSL502x laptop.  The issue was discovered when trying to pair bluetooth headphones with the laptop.  I have tried unistalling/repairing the exisiting BT drivers, but the installation package always fails and rolls back changes, but doesn't provide an error log of why it's failing.

Steps to encounter issue:

From system tray I select the bluetooth icon and "add a device".  The Dell recognizes my BT headphones, installs the drivers and the headphones appears in my Devices and Printers list.

From the Devices and Printers screen, I right click on the headphones and select "Bluetooth Operations".  A 'Bluetooth Device Operations and Services' window appears, but immediately I also get an error pop-up that Intel Bluetooth Service View has stopped working.  My only option is to close the program.  I've located btmsrvview in the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Bluetooth.  When I open it, it takes me to the "Device Operations and Services" window.  It does not crash, but there is a red X and says "Error    Invalid BT Address string"  There is a Refresh button which I can click, but the error message just re-appears unchanged.

Intel-Application Recommended 9/19/2011 1.0.81.20584, A03 and

Dell-Application Recommended 12/18/2011 1.0.81.20601, A03   (C:\Dell\Drivers\0PDK4\)

During the installation process a pop-up states that 'Files in Use' Bluetooth OBEX Service is open and needs to be closed.  Radio button "Close the application and attempt to restart them" is selected and I click OK button.

At about 1/4 progress bar, a pop-up is displayed stating "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this isntallation could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package installer.

I tried to apply an older driver (1.0.67.20474, A01 from 3/8/2011).  Near the end of installation an error pop-ups saying "Service 'Bluetooth Device Monitor' failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system.  I have checked the security properties and granted all user accounts Full Control.

I'm completely stuck!  I can't uninstall, I can't repair.  Can anyone help?!

Thanks!
