Local Administered Address - How can change the MAC - Virtual Address
Hello,
I have looked in the normal places to change the LAA and can not locate where to change it.
Does anyone know where or what driver update is need to have the advanced network features needed to do this?
We use DHCP Reservations on every machine with a virtual MAC and ip address associated to the PC every time a new machine is rolled out.
The ip address and MAC are always the same on new machines.
Thank you in advance.
Duane

1. To back up a registry, you “EXPORT” then Save as.
2. Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
a. Depending on how many NIC are installed determines if you need to modify 0000, 0001, 0002, etc… LOCATE YOUR NIC FIRST
3. If Network Address does not appear, create a String Value. Left Click “000X”, Right Click “000X”, New, String Value, Name it NetworkAddress.
4. Modified String Value, right Click NetworkAddress, Modify, Enter the 12 Digit Hex Value. Example: 400000009162
5. Exit – Reboot
