I'm using an Atheros mini-pci wireless card in my Inspiron 8200. When I purchased the system, it contained a Dell TrueMobile 1180 device.

My BIOS says MiniPci Device: UNKNOWN .

Just means the BIOS can't identify the device.

Windows can. No problem.

hm, ok. But I already tried to install the Dell drivers for the card, and also the original ones from Intel. Windows said in both cases that the drivers weren't the right ones, but I'm shure they are..

Don't know why that is happening. Try the latest drivers from Intel:

Had these drivers already, but thank you anyway!

It works now....i'm such a n0000b...
Just had to delete the unknown devices in the system manager and run the Hardware-Assistent to redetect them...then the drivers were working.

Thank you for your help!
