Modem fax phone disctive ring question

Hi

I hope this is the correct forum for my question.  I was referred here from the XP site.  I have the Demension 8300 with windows XP pro and the internal Conexant smartHFSI telephony data voice PCI modem.  I have one line for my home business phone and fax/modem using Microsoft's built in XP FAX.  I also have a CommandCom 5500 Switch which can descriminate (call descrimination) between fax/modem (using Microsoft windows XP FAX) and voice calls to my business telehone and send them accordingly--so I didn't need disninctive ring (DR).  My personal calls come on a separate phone line.  I am trying to eliminate one phone line by adding distinctive ring.  My goal is to have the following:

1.  One distinctive ring number that goes to the phone/answering machine I use for personal calls.

2.  A second distinctive ring number that can be used to handle both (descriminate between) the fax/modem call (using XP Fax and my internal modem) and non-personal voice calls sent to a separate telephone.

Does anyone know if this can be done and how I would set this up.  I've heard that XP FAX has problems with disctinctive ring.  Perhaps a switch like the CommandCom 5500 which recognizes distinctive rings can be used to solves them but I don't know.  I'd like to know before I order distinctive ring service.

This is a mixed question which involves knowledge on XP FAX, internal modems, external telephone and an external switch box.  I hope someone in this forum has this expertise.

Thanks

Jake
