Which modem do you have on your system? Some versions of the MOH (Modem On Hold) software has options to set a sound alert under the Customize menu (check to see if you have a Settings button and if so check for Customize here).
the modem i have is a 56k PCI telephony, I juts got a dell 8300 on dec 2003, it is the one that came with it.
I looked and do not see any option for it that i can find, other then a telephone icon that says dell modem on hold ....it only has a check to turn it off or on
