Need Modem/Router

I've always connected routers to my modems when I need to use the internet on more than one computer and my video game consoles. However, many times I have difficulty finding a compatible router to use with my modem, such as my most recent router - a Linksys.

At my mother's office, I saw that she uses a Netopia model from the 3300 series and it acts as a modem/ router in one unit. I would like to purchase a model such as that to simplify matters, as opposed to connecting a router to a modem. However, the price of the model that my mother owns costs nearly $200. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good modem/router that is under $200?

Thanks in advance for any response.

The primary consideration is the requirements of your ISP.  I would suggest that you contact your ISP and first find out which modem/router combos are compatible with their broadband system.  If you get something that doesn't work on their network, then you will have more trouble than you already have.

Thanks for the advice, I hadn't thought about that. I'm going to give Bellsouth a call and see if they could sell me a compatible modem/router.
