Network Drivers for Inspiron 2200

OK, I admit it.  I'm stupid.  But maybe there is redemption, if one of you will help.

I am a trainer with limited resources who needed a portable lab, so i bought a 2200 on e-bay.  It came with all the disks--everything worked fine.  I decided to install a different operating system, then decided not to (that's the stupid part), thinking I could just restore the laptop to its previous condition.  It doesn't come with drivers on disk, but I figured Dell has them, right?

I have restored all the drivers (yes, chipset first) but cannot for the life of me figure out which network drivers to install.  still have the dreaded yellow question mark by "ethernet controller" and "network controller".  I installed the driver recommended by one of the folks on the forum--the file from Intel named R54631.exe.  I get the message "no supported wireless adapters available on the system".

Is my only option to open the d(*&^% thing up and try and read the fine print on the hardware?  Can someone rescue me?

The drivers for the ethernet controller are at:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=INSPIRON%202200&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=4030

For the wireless adapter you will first need to find out whether or have a Dell wireless card or an Intel wireless card.

Thanks a ton!  How do I tell if I have a dell or intel wireless card, since it's internal?  Do I need to open the computer?  I have already used the system profiler, and it didn't tell me anything about the wireless card.

Remove the screw on the MiniPCI card door on the bottom of the computer and look at the MiniPCI card.  See the documentation for your computer:

Finally had time to get back to this...I have a Broadcom BCM94309MP card.  From that I can't tell which driver to install.  Sorry to be such a dunce.

Thanks.

You definitely don't have an Intel wireless card.  Since the Dell cards are based on the Broadcom chipset, my guess is that the following drivers should work:
