Network Problem

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 and a brand new Dimension 3000, both with integrated NIC and running XP Pro. In a recent post I asked why I was getting the icon 'Network Cable Unplugged' while connected to my Asante FR3304LC router. Today I installed a brand new Dell 3000 and the same message appeared. I called Dell support and they are convinced it is the motherboard and are willing to replace it. I didn't believe that was the problem so I took the 3000 home and it works fine on my home LAN (with a Netgear router). I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop running XP and a Dell 4500 running XP Pro at my office on a LAN with the Asante 3400LC router with no problems. The 4600 worked fine at my business for 1 year before ceasing to connect and the new 3000 never connected at my business. The laptop will connect at the some port I have tried the 4600 and 3000 and with the same cable (brand new). The ONLY thing that has changed is that I had an Asante FR1004 router that burned out three weeks ago. I replaced it with my spare FR3400LC. My questions are..Why won't my Dell 4600 and new 3000 connect to my existing router but will connect to my Netgear router at home? And, why will my Inspiron and Dell 4500 still connect to the Asante FR3004LC router at my business. I have called Asante and they claim it is not a software issue with the router. Any suggestions? I have two computers dead in the water!!

Problem solved. I bought a new router an all the computers now connect. Dell won't have to spring for a new motherboard.
