Network card crash...

Someone please help...

After doing an Adaware scan and (I guess??) deleting some important stuff, I couldn't connect back to the internet.  My ISP sent out a service tech and he said that I needed to reformat my hard drive and reinstall EVERYTHING.  There was nothing else to do but reinstall everything.  Is there something Dell has to fix this problem or is there another ad scan I can use to prevent this from happening again???

Is there an error message or any indication of what is happening?  What computer and operating system are you running?

Which program did you use to remove spyware?

See the downloading and running lspfix from the following site resolves the problem:

I don't get any message other then contact your ISP.  When the service tech was here he said that we didn't have a connection to the internet and the computer/moden connection was erased.  Looking at www. dowloads.com and what others thik of adawae, only people with Dell computers had this happen to them.  Check the negative reviews.

Did you try lspfix?  The statement "only people with Dell computers had this happen to them" is a bunch of hogwash - there is nothing different about Dell computers that would cause problems like this. Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your network adapter?  Come on- give us some information so we can help you.

Steve...I'm a computer dummy and not sure what you're looking for!!!  I'll try the ISP fix, but whatever the Adaware 6.0 deleted must've been important because my ISP couldn't fix the problem that the message said they were supposed to fix. Dell tech support's only solution was to reformaty the entire hard drive and reinstall EVERYTHING.  I don't know what else I can tell you.

Run lspfix.  It can't hurt your computer, but it may fix it.  Do this before you report back.
