Networking pb with a wireless 2350 router - urgent help needed
hello, i'm new user here
first, i'm french so my english's not so good
i have a problem
i have 2 dell dimension and i need to connect them by wireless network, to the internet, through a wireless router (dell 2350) and a modem (lynksys adsl2mue)
the problem: i am quite inexperimented in setting up network, so i managed to put my modem in "bridged only mode", allowing me to access the internet
but
when i put the routeur between PC & modem, it doesnt work
so i tried to enter in router's setup by writing its ip in my browser, and managed to access its setup (login & pass were "admin" both")
i tried different modes until the moment i had a screen (in general settings sections) in which i could change things like DNS, mac adresses, etc
i changed what i though what needed o be configured, and next i waited for the router to reboot
i rebooted my pc, and from that point on, it was impossible to acces the router anymore, by the browser
thing is that i can ping it, the lan works, but i clearly missed something in the settings, and now, i cant change it
i tried to push on the "reset" button, behind the router, but nothing changed
pls help me? how can i get my routeur as it was, and if possible, how to configure it to access my f....... modem
THX

Without knowing which things you changed, it is very difficult to help you fix the problem. My suggestion is to push the reset button and hold it in for about 10 seconds. That should reset the router to its default settings. Once there, just follow the simple instructions in the manual that came with the router. It is probably on a CD. You don't need to use the software. Instead use the Web Based configuration utility. Don't set up any of the security settings until you are sure the router is working and you can connect to the internet from all computers. Once you can do that, then consider securing the network by enabling WPA encryption and MAC address filtering.
