Odd wireless problem

System specifics:

Alienware 17, core i7 CPU

Intel 7260 dual band wireless card

Windows 7 premium, 64bit

Issue: My wifi has stopped working completely. I tried swapping to a new card, but no joy. Oddly enough, my bluetooth still works. This makes me think that it's not a card issue... any ideas?

Hi,

My first thought is wondering whether wireless is enabled in your system setup?

Try entering System Setup (BIOS) and check to make sure it is turned on.

After that, confirm that wireless is turned on in Windows 7.

I'm assuming you've checked Windows to make sure that wireless is enabled, so my best guess off hand is checking your BIOS.  Try that and let me know if it helps or not.  If not, I'll see what else I can suggest to you.

I hope this helps.

Okay, get this.... I installed a usb dongle as a temporary solution and that was working for a week. Then I accidentally removed the wireless dongle instead of my wireless mouse transmitter and low and behold, the internet was still working! I have no idea what happened....
