PRINTER V515w not printing anything but tests
I have been trying to print but nothing happens. I have unistalled then reinstalled but it still does not print.the problem is that I can't print anything. It has a working wireless connection. I can scan very well and also the test page gets printed as well but when it comes to print anything else (a text document, photo or use the copy option of the printer) it just doesn't print, all jobs get queued but none of them get printed...I don't know what's wrong, Does anybody know what can I do?

sabuathi,
Make and model of your computer and operating system are helpful. Since you said that you're using the printer as a wireless printer, are you using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings in your wireless router, I use channel 11?
The basic insrtuctions for installing the printer can be found at...
Dell V515w Wireless All In One Printer - (RED) owners thread
Virus programs and firewalls can hinder installation. I have a Dell V715w wireless printer, so if you need help, feel free to ask.

Thank you Rick.
My laptop is a Windows 7 Inspiron. i hope that helps [i'm not to good with computers]. when i try to fix it on the laptop, the laptop tells it to print a test page which it does immediately. Then when i try to print anything else nothing happens. I have tried unistalling and then reinstalling but it does not help. I just got this printer 6 months ago.

Sabu,
Was this operating system on the computer was was this an upgrade to Windows 7?
Go to start, control panel system. Look and see which operating system you have. If this computer was ipgraded, did you install the drivers in order?
How to Install Drivers in Microsoft® Windows® on Dell Systems
If you cannot find Windows 7 drivers, use the Vista drivers that match your operating system. Vista 32-bit for Windows 7 32-bit and Vista 64-bit for Windows 7 64-bit and install the drivers in the compatibility mode.
Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.

All-
I have the same problem as Rick, only I am using Win Vista 64b Ultimate SP2. I can print test pages (some real slow, others right away), but nothing else. When I request to print from any app (MSOffice, Adobe, NotePad, etc.), the app hangs.
Had trouble with setup, but my network finally recognizes the printer. The printer is visible in my Network Map.
Any ideas (I would like to keep the printer...).

JETnTEX,
Make and model of your computer and operating system helpful. 32-bit or 64-bit?
The printer is connected on your wireless network, correct?
Make and model of your wireless router is also helpful.
Virus program and firewall are also helpful.

Rick/All-
Apologies..Typos above. My printer is a V515W, not an A515w. Hangover typing from my old A960AIO. Anyway. Love my V515W. Looks great. Works great with my still rocking M1730 Vista 64b Ulitmate system.
Later.

Rick-
My M1730 runs Vista 64bit Ultimate. Tonight--after getting home from work--and without making any changes--the printer works fine. Go figure. All looks good. Not sure what happened during/just after initial printer set up last night...but now, all is well.
To recap: Day One. A515w setup was successful. After initial setup (after two uninstalls/re-installs and multiple re-boots) success, test pages would print just fine. The printer was recognized and identifiable on my home network. Print jobs sent via MS Office, Adobe or any other app were not successful. The respective apps would hang. Day two. Came home from work, opened MS word and was able to print a test document. For whatever reason, printing is working like a charm. I wish I knew what has/had changed.
I found the set up documentation from Dell to be very thorough and easy to follow. The Dell support community is equally helpful. My faith in Dell and Dell products remains as strong as ever.

JETnTEX,
When you print from Microsoft Word, Adobe, etc..., click on file, print and make sure the proper printer is selected.
I also do these tweaks to all the computers in my home...
Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager)
Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.
Go to each USB Root Hub and right click on it, left click properties, left click power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Restart your computer.

Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager). Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
