## Problem in Connectiong Inspiron N5010 to Wi-fi Networks...
Hi!
This is my first post in this forum.
I am facing problem with connecting my wi-fi network to a Wi-fi Broadband modem.
- I have a Inspiron N5010 laptop with original Win7 Home Premium installed.I installed "Intel Wi-fi Link 1000 BGN" driver form the driver CD supplied with the machine. This is the first time I am trying wireless networking.
1) The first time I coneected it worked but then something happened I don't know and from that time it connects but I can't access the net.3 network adapters are showing & one of them-Windows WAN Miniport adapter is saying "Unidentified network".
2) Windows is displaying "Windows has encountered an error saving the wireless profile.Automatic connection is not allowed.".
3) And to make problems worse while trying to access the "Advanced settings" in Profiles the 'Wi-fi configuration utility stops working!'
I have reinstalled the drivers repeatedly but of no avail.
Please Help!:emotion-6::emotion-9:

Parthasarathy Sinha,
Start control panel, network and sharing center. Click on manage wireless networks and right click on the networks you don't use and delete them.
Click on your connection, click on wireless properties, you should see...
You might to have only the top box checked.
The click on properties, look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties for each. Have your settings match mine.

Thanks foe the reply...
I have changed all IPV4/6 settings to 'obtain ip address automatically'...but whenever i try to change the adapter connection settings it says "Windows encountered an error while saving the wireless settings.Automatic connection is disabled."

Parthasarathy Sinha,
I don't understand that it will not allow unless there is some type of malware or permissions stopping you from changing them.
Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free edition, update it and do a quick scan. Remove anything it finds. If it finds anything, please post the log back here.
Download the Network adapter drivers and save them to your desktop.
null
Make a system restore point.
Start, control panel, device manager. network, right click on Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN, left click uninstall. Tell it to remove the drivers and software.
Restart your computer. When you log back in, the new hardware wizard will try to install the adapter but fail. Install the drivers saved to your desktop.
You should be able to connect. If not, then try downloading and installing Dell QuickSet.
Dell Quickset Application
Windows 7 32-bit
Windows 7 64-bit
Windows Vista 32-bit
What happens?
