Problem with connecting to my roter

Question

Hello, friend of mine give me his Dell Latitude D531 to use it for a while.I install a new Windows XP SP3 but the laptop wont connect to my roter.I instal all the driver from the web site, but nothing...I read about utility for the network connection and i saw i have sort of it it called DW WLAN Card Utility it find my network connection but dont wonna conect to it..Where i go wrong?Which drivers from dell support site i must download for wireless?

When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.
