Problems with dimension L____c 3com modem drivers

Question

My girlfriend gave my sisters her old PC (and old dell dimension l___c from bout 1998 or so) and everything works fine but the modem. She said it originialy had win98, but since i changed the hard drive it now has winME. Everything runs great except for the modem. At first it wasnt detected, then i surfed the web as well as this site and i cant find any drivers that will work for it. I tried using the cd rom, but that was useless. It found drivers on the cd-rom, installed them and the modem still ended up giving me a no dial tone error. I opened the case up and saw that the modem is a u.s Robotics Model 0637, sn: 13cAA219481c. Product : 3c0426297400-83010, and said 3com on one of the chips.. I looked in usr.com and couldnt find anything either. Im going crazy trying to fix this problem!
