The printer has an IP address the Ethernet port is set up with the same ip address. The computer sees the printer the printer is lit up green. The issue is the card itself will only use the default windows IP address. It can't be reconfigured. There is an issue with the card. If the card is not configured to the correct IP address it will not print. Therefore "Invalid IP Configuration".
The 169.254 IP Address is a communication error with your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any)
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)

You shouldn't be doing anything.
The printer gets assigned an IP address by your router just as your PC is.

Hmm, Have you tried setting the computer up with a static IP address?

jlg3,
The 169.254 IP Address is a communication error with your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any)
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)
Restart the computer and try to connect.
What happens?
