Resource Conflict PCI WLAN & LAN
I replaced the motherboard on an Inspiron Mini 10V and upon boot I get post errors:
ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller in Slot 09
Bus: 03, Device: 00, Function: 00
ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller on Motherboard
Bus:04, Device:00, Function:00
Press to resume, to Setup
Here is the extent of my troubleshooting.
- Hit F1 and Windows XP loads and operates normally, but both LAN & wireless do not work. Device Manager shows code 12, not enough resources for the wireless adapter and code 10 Device can’t start for LAN adapter.
Note that Device Manager lists slot 8 for wireless card and boot error says slot 09. - If I alter bios settings to disable on board LAN and WLAN control the errors disappear but of course LAN & WLAN don’t work.
- If I remove wireless card, conflict errors do not appear, but get brief “PXE-E01 PCI Vendor & device IDs do not match” error. LAN works when XP loads.
- You sent a USB board also and I tried that with same results as above.
- I tried a working wireless card from another netbook with same results.
- Tried different RAM chip with same results.
- Can use a USB wireless adapter with success.
I suspect bios corruption. The reported bios on the replacement board is version A06 which is the latest and I don’t see a way to re-flash the bios. I tried to run A06 download from Dell and it says no changes will be made since A06 is already installed.
