Slow bluetooth connection
Hi everybody
I've got an Inspiron 510m laptop with an integrated TrueMobile bluetooth card. Meanwhile I tried to exchange data with my mobile and also with another computer via bluetooth filetransfere and it run well - but really slow.
I heard, data rates about 500 kbit/s are possible but I had only rates about 2-10 kbit/s. Is this normal? I searched for any switches but I didn't find any possibility to fasten the link. It is not the distance between the components (about 20 cm) and I also searched for the newest driver and installed it.
May anybody help me? Thanks!
Ulrich

What about phones? And cordless phones?
I don't know if someone else nearby attempting to use their wireless might cause the problems you are seeing or not. I know that my notebook can connect to my Nokia phone that is upstairs and about 30-40 feet away from the notebook. If I take the phone outside (in my shirt pocket) I can go about 30-40 feet away as well before the phone tells me it looses the connection to the notebook (and that is going through aluminum siding too ). I have synched the phonewhile it was upstairs, but not while it was outside. I don't know for sure, but I guess it could be possible that you are too close to the system too, or in the wrong orientation to the "antenna" in the notebook. I know that if you are in the wrong orientation your will reduce your signal strength considerably (although it has been too long since I've actively looked at shortwave radio to remember all of the details).
