Explain what A trendnet is--your ISP, a brand name or what? If it's your provider's router, it's probably made by Belkin. There are only a few brands of wireless routers on the market. And the WFA after the name is more likely WPA, which is the security level of the router. Your Internet Provider might have more info at their web site.
When you click on a router, it tries to open the Router's Base Management page. This was probably setup by your ISP since you are not familiar with it. It contains the settings for your network. If you are not having network problems, don't worry about these listings.
Oh. And the TrendNet it opens its page in my browser at the page 192.168.1.1 . That is its IP address. The belkin opens a box in windows not a browser. Its talkinabout setting up a network like an adHock network of something.
TrendNet is the brand of wireless router. The network is secured with WEP. The network browser in Win7 is like the one in vista. It shows the devices connected to your network. Does that mean this thing is somehow connected to my network? When I disable my wireless that still shows up. Could it be something on the card? And under network infrastructure where the routers show up it displays both the TrendNet Wireless router and the Belkin Wireless Router(WFA). It is WFA. This doesn't show up on any of the other computers wireless or not. Only mine.
I have just recently had the EXACT same thing happen to me in the same manner, only i have a linksys wrt54g router. i have no idea where this belkin router is coming from and it doesn't show up on any of my other computers on my network! i believe it may be someone nearby trying to extend my network through my computer? i dont know, but did you ever find a resolve for it?
No, I never figured out what was going on. It did not show up as a device in McAfee and only on my computer. It showed up under "My Network" whenever it showed up under list of available wireless networks.
Wow, so no resolutions yet? Yikes...do you still experience that router showing up in your network. It seems as though our situations are IDENTICAL. I can see all of the computers on out network too - the belkin shows up in my infrastructure along w/ my current (only) router also, but doesnt show on any of the other computers on our network. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS IS COMING FROM. If you have any other ideas, or know anyone who has experienced this, PLEASE SEND THEM MY WAY?? many thanks - God bless!
I have no idea what it is but I do not think that it is harmful to your network, I never had any problems with my network when it would show up... I have not been able to do any more experiments or looking into this because the windows side of my computer crashed and I am now using Ubuntu, and it does not show up in Ubuntu. :/ I don't know what should be done. It could just be a neighbors wireless network that is being picked up by you computer. I honestly have no clue but I don't think it is harmful.
I had a similar issue. I felt the mysterious wireless router was a clone. I reset the belkin( by creating a new wireless network with a new security code) which eliminated the old network, created a new one and presto, the wireless mystery was solved. The clone was gone. I have continued to pursue the issue( by watching network) but it has not reappeared. Too suspicious for me. I , like a previous poster, feel someone was either cloning my router, or extending my network to include their access. ???

Hello,
The strange Belkin reference might be a neighboring wifi network.
Is your network setup with any kind of authorization?
