Two issues with Netgear WG311T software

1. I'm trying to uninstall the WG311T software so that I can install a more recent version. The uninstaller gets to 17% and then freezes. It happens every time, even after a reboot. Attempting to reinstall the current version over itself also launches the uninstaller first. OS is Windows 2000 SP4. I tried a third-party uninstall program but it just launches the Netgear uninstaller. I'm basically caught in a loop. It doesn't show as "Not Responding" in Task Manager but I've left it running for hours and it never gets past 17%.

2. The tray icon has stopped appearing unless I manually launch the software. I'm guessing that this is a result of my attempts to uninstall it.
