USB ADSL Ericsson modem stops after cold boot
I do have a Dimension 8200 running Windows ME.
Just connected a Ericsson adsl (annex A) USB modem HM121D.
Installation works fine. Reboot gives also no problems.
Problem occurs when system has been shutdown (powered down) and then being restarted.
System does not recognize modem anymore.
Workaround is to disconnect/connect USB cable. System does recognize it again.
Could this be a hardware USB problem? Driver timing?

I have seen many posts concerning USB modems and it appears they are not known for their reliability. If you have the means, try a modem that uses ethernet cable to a NIC. You may need to contact your ISP for a list of compatible hardware.
