Have you enabled any of the security features on the router?  If so, try disabling all security features until you can get it the wireless conenction to work, then re-enable the security features and make sure the new computer is configured to conform to the security settings on the router?  Can you connect the computer to the router by a wired etherent connection.  If you can sucessfully do this, it would help in troubleshooting because it would tell us that Windows is properly configured for networking.

After many hours I have my wireless connection working thanks to support at Belkin and Dell. However a new problem has arrived, when I restart the computer it looses the Windows Zero Configuration and I have to go back into computer management restart it. Next step is to go into Wireless connects and tick the box to allow windows etc.

Any I deas on how to retain the cofiguration?

Open the Administrative tool called Services and look at the bottom area for Wireless Zero Configuration service and make sure it is set to start automatically.

Thanks John. It was set to Automatic but I later discovered I had left the "let this tool manage wireless" on in the Wlan facility. Duplicated message as it looks like some boards get a better response than other and this question was embedded in another. Got there in the end..thanks again
