You can get a 3rd party firewall on each of your computers to provide additional protection. You can download zonealarm from www.zonelabs.com. They offer a good firewall software which is available for free.
Because your machines are not directly connected to the Internet (the router is), you have protection from traffic searching the Internet for vulnerabilities. That leaves two paths open, though - Unauthorized wireless traffic, and traffic arriving at the machine through Web browser connections you've initiated.
There is no protection against unauthorized outbound traffic originating from your PC unless you have a personal firewall installed that's able to monitor and (with your approval) allow outbound traffic.
